A shot in the dark, and a Big Damn Favor

My surgery is scheduled for Wed, October 26th at 8:15 am. I'm not sure how long it will take, but the surgery center wants me to promise that I'll have someone with me for the rest of the day since I'll be loopy on painkillers. This is a real shot in the dark, but is there anyone in the Alpharetta or Atlanta area who would be home during that day who might be able and willing to have a genuine couch potato on their couch for that afternoon? ACat seriously can't get more time off - he's already borrowing vacation time from next year from his job to go to OVFF and they politely made it clear that that's a one time favor they're doing for him.

Personally, I think I would be ok if he got me set up on the couch at home with pills, water, cellphone for emergencies, and tv remote before heading back to work - he's only five to ten minutes down the road. But the doctors seem pretty set about this, and while I may wind up just smiling nicely at them and telling them what they want to hear, I thought I'd ask around first.

Yep, it's me. We're doing OK, though it's just settled in to rain all week. Like Oregon, but without the skiing and wine.

I'm curious how you happened to see my post on this? I'm not on your friends list, so I suppose someone must have pointed you at it? (Regardless, I really do appreciate the offer. I'm not sure if your dad would have, but I do!)

Well, I use an RSS aggregator for reading, so my friends list isn't really up-to-date. I suppose I ought to do something about that in my copious free time.
