a very quick note - I do not have carpal tunnel, but occasionally I do get warning twinges and symptoms. I've been stubbornly ignoring possible trouble the past week or so, but now I'm getting tightness, cold hands and more aches and pains. Love you all, but I'm going to be offline as much as possible for the next few days (considering I HAVE to type at work), at least - I will read, though!

Date: 2003-04-23 04:16 pm (UTC)- rest when possible
- I got an ergonomic (natural) keyboard that has helped quite a bit
- ice packs on a regular basis, but don't give yourself frostbite doing it (frozen peas actually work fairly well, and can be refrozen - just don't plan to eat them later ;-))
- vitamin B6 in megadoses may help control things (I use 50 mg a day; Mom's used up to 200 mg twice daily - since it's a water-soluble vitamin, you don't need to worry about accumulation in your body)
I like Debbie's recent acquisition of voice-recognition software, too, but I haven't tried it myself, and I don't know how that would go over at work for you :-)
*hugs*

Date: 2003-04-26 05:42 pm (UTC)NEFFA's going on, and my ISP, ComCrasht, has been living up to its nickname. :(
My first thought was to suggest the voice recognition software Debbie Ohi is using, but
I see that's already been suggested. Cold hands? That sounds like a circulatory thing,
different from the other symptoms. If your symptoms keep up or keep getting worse,
seek professional help?
Suggestion - now that the work week's over and you don't have to type, stay AFK, for
cripes sake! Let that big galoot of yours post things for you. :)
