Meeeeeemage
Nov. 2nd, 2005 09:47 pmIf you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want, either good or bad. I promise not to come after you with a spatula, either way.
When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.
(From many and sundry - I've been slack about answering everyone else's, I'll try to backtrack and do that but I've been pretty wiped out today.)

Four years later, I'm still floating.

Date: 2005-11-04 02:04 am (UTC)The only room I can visualize is the living room. The couch is very square and somewhat low, but it's extremely comfortable. I'm seeing it as a kind of tan color. The floor is basic apartment-bland. The couch is closer to the TV than I'm really comfortable with - eye strain and all - and the TV is larger than mine. There are medium-height shelves filled with books and clutter. I have the feeling of there being not a whole lot of free space. The door, which is to the right of the couch as you look at the TV (Why would the couch not be against the wall? but I'm definitely standing behind the back right corner of the couch) is a fairly bright wood color, and you can see the grain. (Which is almost certainly wrong, since you can almost never see the grain this way in rental units). There are a few smudges on the ceiling and walls.
So, how entirely poorly did I do?

Date: 2005-11-03 03:31 am (UTC)for Autographed Doc's iteration of this meme - first impressions.
At the May '99 MASSFILC house filk Chosen One and I were hosting, you and your ex (F) showed up. You were
quite new to filking then, iirc, and you and F were sitting in the dining room on the periphery of the
circle. Your uncomfortableness and positioning reminded me very much of that famous [see Subject] old farmer
and wife painting. Minus the pitch fork, of course. :)
To be fair, *I* was still "in my shell" at that point. Getting to know you at ConCertino '99 and after
helped with my, ahem, coming out? ;)
We miss you.

On the in person stuff, the best I can do is "the smiling blonde lady with the big teddybear in the Hat. Right, my friends have mentioned these people, I hope I'll eventually get to know them better."

Date: 2005-11-04 02:27 am (UTC)I think that's the time where we got carried away baking pies, too. I was so thrilled with using the food processor to make pie dough that we ended up with something like 10 pies.
