I have itches I cannot scratch.

I have a shoulder that will only move SO far, and a fierce itch on the opposite shoulder in JUST such a spot that I can't even get at it with a pen, and I can't bring myself to walk up to a random coworker and say "Can you please, pretty please, scratch my damn shoulder for me?"

And I TRIED to scratch with the pen, and I managed to hit the button on the end, so I think I probably have blue lines and smudges all over my shoulder where I can't see them.

And it STILL itches. Bleah.

It's trivial, and it's still driving me mad.

(If I had a good knife, I bet I could make it stop itching...)

Use a corner or a doorjamb. That's what I do when you're not nearby and I just can't stand it. *hugs*

Or, I suppose you could drive across the street and I'll take care of you. :)

*G* Oh, what a tempting thought.

Yes, rubbing against the corner of a wall works pretty well.

And is faster than driving across the street. :)

It's not quite as bad as all that, but it's pretty frustrating. I hate itches I can't reach, don't you?

... but it still wouldn't stop the voices, you know...

You need a "Kratzhand" (literal translation = scritching hand), they come in all sorts of shapes. This is a nice one: http://www.sawa-shop.de/html/jpg/HA-16-Detailbild.jpg
Wish I could send you one by teleporter right now. *hugs* (or should that be *scritches*? ;-))

The English term is "backscratcher." I wonder if someone's ever invented one with articulated joints? That's probably what Larissa really needs.

That's an intriguing thought. The backscratcher idea in general isn't a bad one, either, I may look for one to stash at work. (At home I have an ACat to do that!)

I'm not sure where ours came from; it seems to be made of bamboo, and the scratching end is carved into a small hand with the fingers curved just *so*.

Chosen One keeps a couple of those around the house in *handy* places, and carries one in her canvas bag.

You know, amputees report phantom pain and itching -- I'm not sure a knife would be a permanent solution. Er, um. Not what you meant, I'm sure. Still, scratching with a knife would give me the heebs!

I recommend a wall corner (more likely to not have smooth gloss paint than a doorframe), like others have.
