I can only think that someone DIDN'T think. At work today, I was trying to find an online site to verify private investigators licenses in the state of Arizona. This is the list of Businesses that have licensing/certification requirements in that state, as it says up at the top.

However, look at the 6th item from the bottom. Sex offenders can be licensed and certified as a business now? Ummm.....

Now, I checked where that link goes and obviously they are not and cannot be. It still made me go WTF, showing up on that list.

Well, you can legally get at least one free credit report per year from each of the major credit agencies, and believe by GA law it's two. For Equifax, the number to call is 1-800-685-1111 (https://www.econsumer.equifax.com/consumer/sitepage.ehtml?forward=elearning_credit14), and they are the largest of the three. Transunion's website, interestingly, has a link to here: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp which appears to be give information on how to get the free report from all three. I'd be wary in general of third parties offering reports as well - for one thing, as I understand it, those often show up on the report as credit inquiries and may affect your score. This site, though, I actually got sent to by the TU site when I went looking for their info on how to order a free report, so I expect it's ok. It looks like it's a way to order from all three at once, but it's new since I worked for Equifax. Rather interesting!

it should be noted, however, that transunion's site does not support firefox, even tho it's browser requirements don't say this. i hate it when i can't create passwords using mozilla

not your bad. i did eventually succeed in getting it to give me the goods.

my credit is, as i expected, good, but there is one rather odd entry, and i'm not sure if i should take it up with equifax or at&t universal. odd in that it's dated from before i was 18, and it has a higher credit line than any other account i have, yet has a zero ballance and has never had a late payment. equifax shows i've already disputed it, despite the fact that i have never interacted with equifax before.

the credit counselor gave me www.annualcredreport.com (notice the lack of 'it' in credit) and it seemed quite shady. i'm glad i asked =)
