Ohhhhhh my...... gotta read the whole thing. I especially liked it since I was brought up Unitarian Universalist.

"Greetings to the Imprisoned Citizens of the United States. We are Unitarian Jihad. There is only God, unless there is more than one God. The vote of our God subcommittee is 10-8 in favor of one God, with two abstentions. Brother Flaming Sword of Moderation noted the possibility of there being no God at all, and his objection was noted with love by the secretary."

"We are Unitarian Jihad, and our motto is: "Sincerity is not enough." We have heard from enough sincere people to last a lifetime already. Just because you believe it's true doesn't make it true. Just because your motives are pure doesn't mean you are not doing harm. Get a dog, or comfort someone in a nursing home, or just feed the birds in the park. Play basketball. Lighten up. The world is not out to get you, except in the sense that the world is out to get everyone. We are Unitarian Jihad, and our motto is: "Sincerity is not enough." edit - wow! I read this first thing when I got up, laughed and immediately posted it only to find when I went to read my friends list at least a dozen other people have got it up too. Oh well!

Fun factoid I learned Thursday night - did you know Buck Coulson got registered at a Unitarian minister and performed a wedding?

Are you sure that Buck was a UU minister? It's quite easy to get registered as a minister, my dear friend [livejournal.com profile] ohikennedy got registered so she could perform our wedding as Church of All Worlds (or some such), but I beleive to get to be a UU minister they actually make you go to seminary for several years, cause I was considering it seriously and decided to wait until I'm 80. ;-)

So - What's yer jihad name? I was raised UU too (well, sort of, apathetic UU I guess). I liked it so much I'm seriously considering having Nancy make me a button with my UU jihad name on it. :-)

The name generator assigned me "Sister Gatling Gun of Forgiveness".

I wonder if Jon Carroll has read Julian May's Galactic Milieu series. Some of the jihadists'
names remind me a bit of the names of the Lylmik Supervisory Quincunx in these books. I
can't remember them all but, iirc, two of then were Atoning Unifex and Asymptotic Essence.
I think they had evolved (?) to sexlessness (since they weren't corporeal), so there was
none of this Brother / Sister business in their names.

That being said,
