#filkhaven is an IRQ channel full of - guess what - filkers! There's usually someone around, and we like having new people join in. I know at least a couple cases where people who had no idea of filk came in one way or another and started hanging around and were very welcome. The usual suspects are split (no idea what ratio) between the US and England, with a few from other points in Europe and at least one from Australia. Come check it out some time! You may be surprised, if you do, how many people you already know from LJ.

I'm sorry, ACat just pointed out that typo. It's an IRC (internet relay chat) channel. ICQ is the instant messaaging service, and in my opinion the best of them. Entirely unrelated.

Ah. I'm using Trillian for IM and Yahoo Messenger, which has the ability to connect to both IRC and ICQ, but I've never used either one and am not sure how they go.
