Year end gave me lots of stress dreams last year, and it's doing it again this year apparently. Why are ACat and I up at quarter past two? Well, I've been re-reading Lois McMaster Bujold's Memory (re-re-re-re-re-re-reading, actually) and I had a dream. I dreamed that Gregor's wedding was about to happen, and somehow someone had done the tax paperwork wrong. (Don't ask me, I have no idea why they're related!) Anyhow, I was frantically checking all the Type of Service levels on the paperwork with some ImpSec goon hanging over my shoulder being quietly menacing and wanting to know how this happened - when the cat apparently walks across the bed and scratches my arm. I apparently made a loud desperate noise and levitated about six inches. ACat claims he was aleady awake, but if he hadn't been he certainly would have been at that point. On the whole, not a good dream - but not one I really needed such an awakening from! Fortunately, I can take a nap later if I need one...

dreams can be unsettling, sometimes, indeed...I dreamed last night that another cat had bitten my Demira close to death - fortunatedly I awoke to hear her snoring peacefully in her basket.

Oh dear. I hope your bedroom has a door so you can shut the cats out at night.

We were awake at 2:15 as well, but that's because it's Wolf's natural schedule and I had fallen asleep at 5:30PM (intending nap, not 6 hours of sleep... but I got back to sleep around 2:45).

Well, it has a door but the catch is that to keep the cats our I'd have to lock them in the bathroom, since that's where their food and litter box is, and the only way to that from the rest of the house is through the bedroom. I did go back to sleep after about an hour and a half, and I got a decent total amount so it's all good in the long run.

Confuse us shall be my epitaph

Ah, the cat was not in the dream! :)

Maybe kitty should be thanked for ending the dream? It might have gotten worse.

Might have... but that was a rough way to wake up.

Yes, it must have been. :( I guess you can tell that it's been quite a
while since I was scratched by a cat. I think the last time was a MASSFILC
at ailsaek's, maybe last year. One of their cats (I call him Green Lantern)
decided to get to my lap by climbing up my right leg. Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!

Lots of hugs.

But don't kill the cat; you'll only find you need it in a later chapter.

Ah, so by showing the cat now, she's obligated to kill someone with the cat later on?

Don't kill the cat. I knew what serious nastiness those ImpSec goons can be, and wanted to save you.

Nah. I got the shapeshifting part down, but I haven't worked out the teleportation bit yet and the plane fares were too expensive.

If you strike the cat down, he shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

No, if I strike her down she shall become slippers.

And I could use a new pair of slippers. Bwahahahaha!

I'm sorry, Kitanzi; I laughed out loud when you did the levitating thing.
Been there/done that/still got the scar on my arm from the cat's claw.
