Well, we are told this is not actually Hurricaine Ivan. Nope, it's just Tropical Storm Ivan or some such by now. I'm just so glad, aren't I?

Because if this were Hurricaine Ivan, I would have presumably been blown off my feet while standing thigh deep in the puddle my car is currently trying to dogpaddle in back at work, instead of being able to stand there in the downpour and shriek when I saw the water was up over the bottom of the doors. Sigh.

Hopefully things will drain and it will work happily in a day or so... meanwhile, ACat came and got me. I am SO glad I live this close to work. (Yeah, it could be far worse and I know it - we have power, and work let out early. I just really feel aggravated about the damn car!)

Thanks - the puddle had drained by the time ACat dropped me off at work this morning. I could move it to a better parking space, but the battery warning light comes on and it stalls out a lot. I'll have to see how it does at getting me home tonight. (Also about an inch of standing water in the front around your feet.... sigh)

I just drove it home. It stalls and has check engine soon glaring bright red at me, but we'll get it looked over tomorrow. I'm confident nothing too bad came of it!

*grin* Well, tomorrow *is* Saturday. And that means....Car Talk on NPR! You could always ask their opinion. They'd enjoy the story, if nothing else.

Ours went out about 9:30, so we just went to bed very early. Fortunately, it came back at 4:15 - I only wish I didn't know that because I couldn't sleep! I hope yours comes back soon.

We were lucky, power didn't go out at all. A few flickers, but that was it. Good luck w/ your car. At least it's not salt water; in NJ what happened to your car would have completely trashed it.

Very good point - I'm sure that's the same for MA and NH as well.
