I am trying to be more consistent in posting. I am also trying to do better about everything from catching up on email to cleaning the house. Ha. Toooo many distractions, however pleasant they are!

Anyhow, one thing at a time. It's been a very good week over all, mostly because [livejournal.com profile] maedbh7 is visiting us. She and [livejournal.com profile] telynor stood as witnesses for us at the courthouse wedding, though as it turned out we didn't have to have witnesses after all. Having them there still made it feel like a much more special occasion for me, though, so I'm glad they came. They took photos, then we went out to eat along with [livejournal.com profile] tarkrai, who was passing through with his kids on their way home. Dinner was delicious, but Tarkrai's problems with his van kept us from all being able to socialize much after dinner. Still, I was glad for what could be managed.

Maedbh7's visit has been a model of a very low key, laid back vacation. She keeps protesting that she's enjoying it, but for various reasons we've mostly stayed at home - movies, music, computers, TV, eating out, making ice cream, annoying cats who annoy us, reading, snuggling and socializing and stuff. Movies included The Full Monty and Blue Collar Comedy Jam, which were both great, and the first DVD of the third season of Coupling, even if that's not technically a movie. We tried to get to a Binet meeting but mistimed it, and did make it to a poly meetup which was great. We're definitely hoping to do that again. This weekend should be a little livlier, since we're planning on going to a concert in Piedmont Park (weather permitting!) In fact, there were vague noises made about seeing the folks from the poly meetup there, but I don't think we've organized anything. It may be too late... hmmm. We're also wanting to see [livejournal.com profile] khaosworks sometime while Maedbh7's still here, so that would have to be a weekend thing too - another that I don't think the groundwork has been laid for, but I could be wrong. Anyhow, this may be quite the busy weekend - it's something to shoot for!

Work has also been insane and exhausting this week, for a number of reasons. Almost a third of our staff got moved to another department, plus we've been shorthanded due to things like training, bereavement, illness and my wedding. Still, it's been NUTS and I'm awfully glad to be done with the week, considering it included a fair bit of overtime on top of the insanity. High points, though, included a gorgeous little wedding cake that a coworker made for me and gave to me when I came back. She's starting a business on the side, so if anyone in the Atlanta area wants a really delicious decorative cake, let me know! (Photos should be appended to the wedding album soon, or maybe even already.)I've gotten the expected amount of teasing as well, especially regarding kids and keeping my name and that sort of thing, but I've had a huge amount of fun bragging up my friends who're paying for our honeymoon this February in ENGLAND, and today they sprang a potluck lunch (in honor of both me and the new guy!)and handed me a suspiciously thick envelope. It had a pretty wedding card signed by absolutely everyone in our department plus a couple of related departments, plus a sheaf of money. Whew! That was very kind and unexpected. It will also be quite useful this weekend, since we've been a touch spendthrift lately! (But damn, we've enjoyed it! ;) )

Edit: By the way, thank you to everyone who put comments/captions on the photos in the album. I just read through all of them and they're great! *G*
