Post a memory of me in the comments. It can be anything you want. Then, of course, post this to your journal and see what people remember of you.

I like this idea - a mosaic of memory. Please put in some piece of memory, however small or simple it seems, and I'll do the same for you if you like.

Deadpanning you about the jacket at GaFilk a few years ago and getting a roar of laughter as the joke hit you from left field.

Just one?

I remember having dinner with you and your now-ex and me and my now-ex and Sue Phillips at Gafilk 3, and me trying very hard not to be obvious about staring at you. :)

Can't do JUST one. How about when I said "We need to talk" and us going and hiding in that back corridor at OVFF, when I kissed you for the first time, after asking 'May I kiss you?'

I remember long late-night phone calls, where we both would talk about anything and everything until we were both falling asleep on the phone but refusing to hang up.

I remember you bounding off the elevator and us bearhugging so hard that your glasses got bent at Gafilk 3 -- and [livejournal.com profile] persistalismum standing by looking very amused until I noticed she was there.

Or the first time you came to visit in my new apartment, where we both made a big deal of taking the Grand Tour so that neither of us would seem too anxious to jump into bed right away!

I remember the feeling of contented joy when I woke up with you lying next to me the first morning after you moved in.

I could go on and on. Every day we've spent together is a precious memory, and every day to come.

I love you!

Awww! I think I'm gonna sniffle now a little tiny bit... then come home and make more good memories with you. *G*
(Very minor correction - I don't think the first and fourth could have both been the same Gafilk!)

Obviously I cannot top the previous responder. :)

I remember you curled up on our couch as we talked about life and stuff when you and Autographedcat came to visit. :)

That was a great visit. :) So, when are YOU going to come visit US? :)

You do deadpan marvelously well. :) I don't remember that precise joke, though I do remember you hitting me with a joke I didn't see coming about that jacket.

I don't remember exactly how it was phrased, but it amounted to an elaborate phrasing which sounded like a standard-issue poly cliche of having to obtain Manny's consent etc... to borrow the jacket, rather than me. :)

We sat down to dinner and you stole bites of my dessert -- or maybe we shared it, I don't remember anymore. Then we walked back to the hotel, and put on our suits, and played in the pool, and laughed so hard that the whole world was ringing.

You were beautiful.

You have a wonderful laugh, have I ever mentioned that? :)I think you and Browngirl have the two most infectious laughs that I know of.

I remember making a comment about how I'm too strange for the mundane and too mundane for the strange in my LJ, and you responding along the lines of "Me, too!", which made me happy.
I probably won't do this meme in my LJ, but I'd love to hear your memory of me. :)

I don't believe I ever have met you in person, have I? I definitely remember the first time I met you online, though - the virtual birthday party for Browngirl year or two ago, where you and I were the only ones to show up. I still thought it was a neat idea, though, and it was an interesting and unlikely way to meet someone. :)I believe I started reading your journal the next day, and I've enjoyed it quite a bit.

You're right -- the fourth was Gafilk 4, not Gafilk 3. Dratted Typos! :)

I don't think I have one particular memory - I just have this sense of you always being around. You're one of those warm presences at filkcons I always enjoy spending time with...but don't seem to spend nearly *enough* time with.

Hmm, maybe we should try to get on a dinner run together next con...

I've actually met only a couple of my online friends in person, unfortunately. If you're ever near Northern Illinois... :)
I remember that, too! Thanks. I enjoy reading your journal as well. :)

I'd like that, actually. Well, I have many memories of seeing you wench at the interfilk auctions, but it's hard to separate a single one out. You're always so obviously enjoying yourself and playing it up with grace and flair that it's a pleasure to watch. You're exceedingly effective at it, too - I believe ACat has told you one or two stories about how you've managed to raise his, ah, bid? *grin and duck*

Most of my memories of you are online, where you've been a great source of advice. The clearest memory of seeing you in person is still from the IF auction the year you met doc. ;-)

Likewise, I mostly remember you from #filkhaven, where you've shown a sly sense of humor and quite a lot of quiet intelligence in conversations about everything from guys to music. :)I'm afraid I don't specifically remember you from the IF auction that year, but then, I think I was fairly distracted. *G*

Let's see, some memories from when I visited you and Rob last spring . .

Your wry amusement regarding my pathetic happiness when I discovered I could satisfy my need for coffee at a nearby Starbucks ..

An evening of delightful conversation with you and Rob :-)

The only time I've met you was on your drive from Boston to Atlanta, when you stopped for breakfast with me at an entirely unremarkable McD's in equally unremarkable New Jersey. I remember thinking how nice it was to see Rob happy :)

This is the first thing that came to mind even though a very tiny memory: How very sweet you and [livejournal.com profile] telynor looked curled up on the couch of "New Frontiers" together one time. (somewhere I have a picture to prove it!)

Other memories include the first time I really heard you sing during a voice lesson and thinking with pleasure "hey! She has a terrific voice! I mean, really, not just 'she can sing but then I think everyone can sing' but she really has a very nice voice!" :-) (well you know it is is a pleasure to teach someone with such good material to work with! ;-)
Also bopping around the zoo and how patient you were with my two very - um - energetic boys. (who, by the way, still occasionally mention "RobAndLarissa") ;-)

And I rememeber being anxious to make a good impression - you were the first of his friends I was meeting, as opposed to people that were mutual friends. :) It was a nice breakfast, though - when WILL you be coming to visit?

One of my favorite memories of you is when you and Rob came to Hartsfield last summer to keep a lonely traveller with a long layover company, and we had dinner at Atlanta Bread Co, and you took turns regaling me with tales about the UK trip, and we talked about anything and everything... Those couple of hours just *flew* by, and I hated to leave to head back through security and find my westbound plane...

I'd love to hear what you find memorable about me. Gonna add this meme to my journal, maybe it will get people commenting on my stuff again. Esp since nobody in the small group who is on my filter list (you, ACat, Telynor, and a couple of others) has commented on yesterday's "sun" post...

Yep, that was fun! I just posted a memory for you over on your journal, but here's a bonus - the very first time I ever saw you and Cat at a filk con, and the two of you were singing one of your songs in open circle that evening. I was sitting a few people down, and started singing along rather quietly, and you specifically looked over and me and smiled and nodded to encourage me. That meant a lot, especially as timid as I was back then. :)

Awwww... I'm delighted that I was able to encourage you, back in the day. Was this at Arisia in 2000?

I'm *always* happy to encourage people who want to sing along - as long as they (like you did) do it tunefully! :-)

*HUGS*

In A Land Far, Far Away

I *suppose* you won't mind being reminded of this. You was just being silly, after all.
It happened in New Hampshire, the Sunday after a MASSFILC three or four years ago.
There were two doorways from your kitchen into the living room. One of them was blocked
by one of the living room sofas. You came from the kitchen into the living room.
Well, maybe slithered is a better word. Upside down. Head first. Over the back of the sofa.

When you were about half-way through, a certain filker went into Poke mode and rapidly approached you. It was truly amazing to see how quickly you righted yourself!
And all done quite modestly, of course. :)

The first memory that comes to mind was you and I standing in the entryway of the Park Plaza in the wee hours of a Sunday morning at Arisia, while Wolf and your now-ex were trying to find a stray teenager and a ride back to Somerville, and torn between comforting you, collapsing, and going off and Taking Care of Everything Myself. Except I didn't have the last choice, because your ex wouldn't listen to me.

Hmmmm..... I think you are misremembering slightly, though I appreciate the description. :) I'm pretty sure that you two came for the weekend, then once you got back home the doctors told her that the exploratory surgery had shown she COULDN'T get pregnant. We invited her to come visit for a week because she was devestated by the news and you were overwhelmed at work - and she didn't find until shortly after she got home that she in fact WAS pregnant - at which point there was wild rejoicing.

Regardless, I'm glad we could make the offer and glad that it was taken - for both visits. :)

Oh dear... I remember being pretty cranky about the whole mess, but I didn't realize I was being quite that useless or making things worse. Sorry - probably a measure of just how tired I was. :( As I recall, she was finally found fallen asleep agains a pillar at the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I wouldn't have thought ANYONE could sleep through the noise there. *G*

Oh, that's right. Tho I think you _did_ offer her some pampering time during the pregnancy too. But either way, it was wonderfully generous.
