Why do I like the people here better than those at the last job?

Just for an example - a thoroughly entertaining conversation about whether He-Man (remember him from the old cartoons?) was going out with She-Ra or if she was his sister, and then two of us laughing, trying to remember all the details of The Greatest American Hero and singing bits of the theme song at a thoroughly bemused coworker. *G*

I actually like these people. Of course, now I have that song stuck in my head, but I'm smiling.

Adam of Eternia (He-Man) was one of a set of twins; his sister Adora was kidnapped to the parallel world of Etheria, where she grew up working for the big local baddie. Eventually she visited Eternia, and wound up being gifted with the power to become She-Ra by the Sorceress, keeper of Greyskull.

I was always very put out, because she said 'By the Honour of Greyskull', rather than 'By the Power' like her brother. I thought it was silly.

Ha! I should have figured you'd know, thanks for saving me the dilemma of whether I cared enough to actually look it up! >:)

As well you should. But what's the cause on this particular occasion?

I remember that theme song! When I was riding regularly at Jamaica Bay (a good indoor stable in the far end of Queens) it was all over the radio, and it was *exactly* the right tempo to canter to. On a smooth-gaited horse it felt like flying, and suited the song perfectly.

I always had a soft spot for that show and that song. I just loved the idea of a regular goofy person who had superpowers and just didn't quite know how they worked. "Lost the manual" my ass!
