A little cheerful surreality

I tried a couple times to staple something I just faxed out and the staple kept not going through on both sides - hmmm. I opened the stapler to see what was going on.

There was a live ladybug, lying on it's back flailing it's legs. I must have made a noise since a coworker asked me what was up. I told her and showed her and she made a much louder noise as it flipped itself upright and started walking inside my stapler.

I have no idea how it got there, why it didn't get crunched, or what to do with it. I think I have a pet ladybug now. *G* This is exactly what my day needed!

I did, actually. I wonder if it's going to eventually fly out and be found somewhere else, though! (Fortunate that we have real plants in here! No way I'd be able to get permission to walk it all the way down and out of the building, I'm sure! *G*)

Agreed! I once had a pet moth named Smoke. (He appeared one day in my dorm room in college and didn't leave for at least a week. :)
