This seems to be spreading rapidly, but it's worth passing along - a poll on the acceptability of same sex marriage, apparently with the aim of presenting the results to congress. Put your two cents worth in.

I've been informed that they are skewing the data. :(

I'm not surprised - there are an awful lot of very easy ways to do it, for either side. I still think it's worth chiming in.

The "afa.net" was a giveaway for me -- the right-wing American Family Association. Even if the results were 10 to 1 in favor of gay marriage, that's not what they would report to Congress. Thanks but no thanks.

I don't like that I have to give my name and mailing address to them for this poll. I don't want to receive any love notes or Chick tracts from them, trying to get me to Repent And Come To Jee-Zus. Or to be put on some future black list.

??? I gave them a name, zip and email address. I don't see any way for them to verify data - I voted both from work and home, for instance, and gave disposable emails both times. I did give my actual name on one, and my correct zip, but I think the damage they can do me with that is minimal. It never asked me for a mailing address.

I gave my name and zip code, too and am unafraid of them. Unfortunately, I doubt it will do any good. The very fact that it's on their website and they are asking for a name and e-mail will skew the data in their favor. Oh well, maybe our votes will make it harder for them. What we need to combat this, really, is a poll set up by a friendly or neutral party somewhere.
