For anyone who has been waiting for the Firefly DVD, it came out today. I got home, ACat had it (of course) and we just saw the pilot again.

I had forgotten how much I adore this show. I won't say everything is perfect - but it's so very, very close. It still gives me happy shivers down my spine, and we still keep interrupting it to point out all the particularly good details to eachother!

See this show. If you want, come see it at our place, we'll have a party! But whatever you do, see it.

I loved that show, and was very sad when it was cancelled. I hear the DVD actually has some episodes on it that didn't get aired--is that correct?

Yes. There are three episodes that were filmed but never shown on US television. It also includes some deleted scenes, a couple of behind-the-scenes documentaries, a gag real, and several audio commentaries paired with the episodes. I can't tell you how good any of that is yet, since last night we watched "Serenity", the pilot, and didn't get to any of the special stuff. God, I loved that show, and watching it again, it breaks my heart how Fox screwed the pooch with it.
