Unsurprisingly, now that I've lined up another job and given notice here, things are bugging me a lot less. The days still drag - worse, in some ways - but I'm less irritated with all the small idiocies because I can count down the days.
In fact, many of the folks here are being very nice about it (some remarkably so), and Sandy came by yesterday to make sure of my last day (a week from tomorrow!) and that I'd really be coming in that day. Turns out she's organizing a goodbye lunch for me, which is really sweet and unexpected, since I'm "only a temp". I have been here for well over a year, but... anyhow, I didn't expect it and I do appreciate it.
The amusing irony come in that she came back by my desk today to tell me that they needed to change that to the day before - the company is having Employee Appreciation Day that Friday, and buying everyone lunch anyhow.
Maybe it's just me, but I find it very amusing and ironic that the company that refused to hire me permanently is celebrating Employee Appreciation Day on my last day!
