Since
zencuppa is visiting, I'm going to try and spend a little less time online this weekend, but here's one out of the backlog, from
bardling:
1) What led to the scary truck accident you described in answer to filkerdave's question?
I do not entirely know. The truck's engine stuck in accelerate as I was trying to turn a corner, and I lost control. I was a new driver and didn't think of some of the options later suggested to me, like throwing it into neutral or just turn the motor off. Actually, turning the motor off might have backfired - I don't recall if the steering had a power assist. The truck was actually still drivable, after some work from the mechanic, and I did drive it again.
2) If you could furnish your home with no regards to cost - what kind of furniture (material? colour? type? size? style?) would you pick nd what pieces would be most important?
Erk, that's a large and open ended question. I'm really not sure, since this is the first time in my life that I've been in a position to have enough money to think about what I want for that kind of thing, rather than what can I get cheapest. I'm still slowly evolving ideas on that, but as general rules I don't like clutter or fussiness, I do like simple, functional, comfortable things, and I will always want lots of bookshelves and plenty of storage space, especially closets. I also love having a functional fireplace.
3) Do you have a particular song that is special to you? Why? (If you don't wish to disclose the reason, that's ok, too)
Ordinary Love, by
telynor has definitely become "our song" for ACat and me.
4) If you could pick any skill to be really good at as of now, what would it be?
I think navigation and directions, especially relating to driving. I am frighteningly bad at that, and tend to be frightened of trying as a result. It's almost like dyslexia at times, and it frustrates me like almost nothing else. It's a big blind spot in my brain, and I despise it.
5) Name the event/development that most made you who you are today?
How? Seriously, I've had lots of things happen in my life (obviously) and I don't think it's really possible to pick only one and say "If that didn't happen, that's the one that would make me someone else." Depending on how you look at it, there are too many possibilities or else none of them really qualify.
