Weight loss programs I will NOT be trying
Nov. 8th, 2002 07:42 amNYC is making a great fuss over the first case of bubonic plague to be diagnosed there in over a century, apparently imported by visitors from New Mexico, where it's rather more common. Well, not too common, I hope, but they certainly aren't declaring it a historic event. Anyhow, I was talking about this with
autographedcat who mentioned a story he had head on filkhaven (so a number of you have probably already heard this) of a man who caught the plague and lost about 160 lbs in the course of a few weeks before it was diagnosed and successfully treated?!? My mind is really boggling on this, but still, I can somehow see National Inquirer headlines: Amazing New Weight Loss Tool - closely guarded secret of the ancients - strip away the most stubborn of fat deposits, lose half your bodyweight in 2-3 weeks guaranteed or your money back!
The scariest part is that I think someone out there would buy it....
