I now live in, and work out of, a third story apartment in Seattle. The people watching out the window can be quite entertaining, and I have always heard this but I never realized how completely true it is.

People don't look up. They just don't.

*shrug*

If that sounds creepy, so be it.

This city is afraid of me...I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No."

Sounds like we were gypped by having the cheaper flat in DC, with only alley windows & balcony. OTOH, we got a slice of Chinese New Year from the alley's mouth, but mostly it suited our boring lifestyle.

These days, a lot of them also don't look left or right, or even forwards, what with their personal devices. I wish them luck; many of them will likely need it doing that.
