I have been two weeks completely offline, but Gafilk is done and we have finished the move to WA - almost everything is even unpacked, but my pants aren't merely bankrupt, they have fled the country to avoid debtors.

I am not even trying to catch up on LJ, after a very abortive effort, so please feel free to tell/point me at anything folks have been doing of note, and have a little mercy.

Glad y'all are safely in from the road. Don't sweat LJ too much, it seemed that most were likewise recovering or otherwise offline during the last couple of weeks (OMMV).

So glad you made it safely!! I'm in the midst of my own moving "fun" :). I think you knew my condo sold (yay!!). I have to hand over the keys on Wednesday so I moved in with my parents last Saturday and movers came yesterday and are holding my stuff for ransom until I have a new place to move to. Hopefully this will happen in the next few weeks :).

I have been off-line for a *good* three weeks. My ancient computer died, the replacement had a couple of damaged USB ports, but I now have a "fully functional" computer. So I've been playing LJ ketchup. :)

Congratulations on a successful move and, I assume, a successful GAFilk. IIRC, you're not a great fan of driving / riding long distances, so I hope the trip wasn't too much of a drag. Speaking of drags...

This is the fourth time I've used this user pic today. Sigh. I *think* you met Lois's older sister Sandra, maybe at a Sunday get-together at our place after a MASSFILC. This is one of those times when my not succumbing to The Alternative shows its down side -

In Memoriam - Sandra G. Ryan 10/7/1944 - 2/4/2013

Died peacefully in her sleep Monday morning while under home hospice care. She had battled various cancers since 2011, but she had outlived her doctors' life expectancy prognosis by a number of months. She is survived by her daughter and the four remaining siblings.

I'm really sorry to hear that, I can't remember if I met her or not. If it was peaceful, then I'm glad for that much! I'm glad you appear to be weathering the storm well, too! The trip was interesting, and I never want to do it again. :)

Yes, I weathered the storm. Multiple light flickerings but no outage. And after two days of shoveling, things (my van, the driveway, the sun deck) are accessible again. Normal? No, three foot high walls of snow are not particularly normal. Don't you just wish you still lived in NH? Um, that's a rhetorical question. :)

No, it went as well as we could have hoped, after the legendary 6 hour/10 mile traffic jam on the first night, but I think ACat covered that. I am certainly not wishing I lived in NH just now, especially since I lived in MA during the blizzard of 1978 - no repeats needed, especially now that I'd be old enough to be the one shoveling!
