Don't take expired Dayquil (or, presumably, Nyquil). It will do things to your brain that you will regret. On a somewhat related note, please forgive me for any idiocies I post today. Dan Savage's project on Youtube is still well worth while, though. (That was before I took the Sinus/cold Syrup of Doom.)

On an utterly unrelated note, does anyone one know of any crossover fics/vids for White Collar and Life or Castle? I could really use some entertainment that didn't require a lot of brain cells. Poly friendly is a plus, but not a requirement, obviously. (I hope.)

Edit at 12:17: Son of a bitch. I can't spell Son, and I clearly have no excuse since I posted this before I took the Nyquil. The URL is http://www.shewired.com/Article.cfm?ID=25790

I have, in fact, read all of those through your website that I hadn't already read before. (Want some counter recc's? Keep in mind, they will be heavily weighted toward poly-friendly. In fact, I have never before seen a fandom so heavily weighted in that direction. I can't type worth a damn right now. I think I fixed a couple dozen typos. Please shoot me.)

Actually, I kind of assumed that no one ever reads my recs. I'm glad to hear I was wrong. ^-^

Oh good god, no. I was reading those before we started doing coffee. :) I do appreciate a good recommendation. I find that I get better reccs going by writer than I do going by fandom - hell, that's how I GOT hooked on White Collar.(And entirely too many other fandoms....) The actual canon/broadcast was very nearly beside the point.

Um, if it's not clear, I'm stoned on past-expiration-date Nyquil. Yeah.... legal and stupid. Please do shoot me.

I suspect TPTB thought they could discourage the slashers a little by giving one of the guys a happy marriage to a very likeable woman.

Those poor, innocent fools.

That's exactly my theory. And yes, poor innocent fools. (Although, I'm pretty happy about all of this. So is my husband, who has NEVER been this hooked on a fandom while I've been with him. Yeah, we're biased. Yeah, I'm an idiot. I'll take it while I can get it.)

Have you noticed that at AO3, they've changed the name of the "pairings" field to "relationships"?

Of course, my favorite OT3 is Dan/Laurie/Walter.

I, sadly, had not noticed. What fandom is that? (I reiterate, please shoot me. If I were Neal, I'd be so very busted right now.)

That would be spiffy, thank you.

Recc's.... well, you could do far worse than pretty much anything from here:

And since you suggested The Rehabilitated Con Con, I assume you've found that China_Shop has lots of good stuff?

I am currently working my way through anything that looks decent (and in one of my favored fandoms) in the polyamory tag and the in the neil/elizabeth/peter tag. I'll take a look at China_Shop's fiction too.

Speaking of which astolat - who wrote one of the stories that I sent yesterday is one of my all time favorites when it comes to high quality fan-fiction.

What email should I send the invite info too?

kitanzi at kitanzi dot com ought to do it. I have Astolat's web page bookmarked, but I didn't know to look there for White Collar. (Hmmm, just looked - only one.)

Eeep! Thanks for the heads up on Nyquil or Dayquil! While I don't take too much stuff like that anymore - it was too hard to wean myself off! - I have been known to keep that kind of stuff around and not be good about checking expiration dates.

Hope you keep feeling better! *hugs*

That's a very good idea. Pills and powders don't go horribly bad when past their perspiration dates, but liquids most certainly do. I (and especially Lois) regularly took prescription pills past their dates. Lois was a stockpiler and tended to get ahead on her scripts, so she'd be taking the older ones on a regular basis. And, eventually, the newer ones became older ones. But they weren't liquids, so no bad reactions.

But I once took a swig of a perspired OTC tussin med when I had a cold, and when the nausea, diarrhea and vomiting stopped I promptly threw the bottle out and made a mental note to be wery, wery cwareful of liquid medications and perspi dates.

Get well sooner.

So what does it do if it's old? Nasty side-effects or just a 'recreational' effect? (Not that I'd have it anyway, it contains a lot of acetaminophen (paracetamol outside NA) which I avoid.)

Both, actually. It's not something I'm going into detail on - but seriously, check your expiration dates. That was... something I am never, ever going to do again.
