kitanzi: (brain hates body - by Sam (?))

This has been one of those days. No, worse than that. This has been one of those days where one thing after another leaves me nearly convinced that I'm not intelligent or competent enough to blow my own nose, almost literally. I started the day angry, exhausted, half deaf and in pain. I have now eliminated half deaf from the list and added overwhelmed. Go me.

And on the way home Arrogant Worms came up, and I bellowed along with the live audience for The Last Saskatchewan Pirate, and damned if I wasn't smiling by the time I got home. I love those guys. Better than a drink, I'm telling you.

Me too! I was having ridiculously detailed fantasies about standing up, telling people in depth just how they should fuck off, and walking out.

Absolutely. You know the old question of which you'd rather lose, sight or hearing? I've always said hearing, and I suppose it's true, but I really can't imagine losing music.

I think [livejournal.com profile] browngirl has a bad mood master mix on her laptop for just that reason. :)

Just sent you and ACat information one of you requested in a text message yesterday.

Sounds like my day yesterday.

Those are the days when I can really use some Mother Grove. (Go to their page and listen!)

It's a little-known fact that there is a huge negative correlation between IQ and nose-blowing ability. The latest medical research indicates that small brains allow for better airflow.

Einstein, for one, was almost totally unable to blow his nose. He actually came up with the General Theory of Relativity by observing how slowly time appeared to move when you can't sleep because your nose is stuffed up.

And, of course, Beethoven was fully deaf, so I congratulate you on taking the plunge and going beyond half-deaf.

Heh.... I like this theory a great deal! Um, I regret to disillusion you, however - I am now fully hearing rather than fully deaf. Can you still possibly care for me, dear?

Sorry you had such a sucky day. Half deaf and in pain? I hope you don't have an ear infection. I've managed to miss ever having one of those - I specialize(d) in dislocated shoulders :( , but I'm told they're awful.

Lois had a video tape she'd pull out for days such as you had. Mike Jitlov short films, 1776, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum and the Beatles' Help! were on it. Never failed to perk her up.

Tomorrow will be better, let us hope. (Actually, it's already tomorrow, by 6 or 7 minutes).

Paul

Not quite - I had a physical on Friday and the ear cleaning only got half done on my left ear. Long story. Anyhow, I tried to finish the job myself drops and all the over the counter stuff and wound up just making it worse. I had almost no hearing in my left ear for most of the weekend and it drove me nuts. I confess I'd still rather have that than a dislocated shoulder, however! And today is much better, thank you. :) *hug*
