Really, I should take time to post about the good stuff in my life lately, and there's been plenty. Some I have, like the wedding, and some I haven't, like the Aphelion microcon and our second trip to the ren faire.

Right now, though, I'm stuck with endless, endless printing, copy, and coallation for this idiot project here at work. Naturally, my mind isn't very engaged in this and tends to drift. For some reason, today it's insisting on dwelling on every stupid or painful thing I've ever done, none of it to any useful purpose.

So, if you have any good memories of me or anything cheerful to tell me about in your life, or anything at all that makes you smile - share?

I will. I'm planning to bring the laptop and the camera cardreader, and post daily pictures and updates from the road. How often do I get to do a transcontinental road trip in my life? I wanna keep a record.

Planning to spend a full day at Yellowstone, too, and take lots of pictures there.

Yellowstone sound like fun, too. Too bad my mom's not still working there, or I'd tell you to tell her hi. :)

Getting to have a good talk with you at Consonance...

Heck, almost all of Consonance was good. [livejournal.com profile] vixyish breaking [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear ("Six String Love"). The Bohnhoffs and [livejournal.com profile] cadhla breaking [livejournal.com profile] vixyish ("Wil's Song"). [livejournal.com profile] jenkitty tripping multiple hamsters with her interpretation of "Sex and Chocolate". (Frankly, I think the little hamster ER got full over the course of the weekend... :)

... and thanks to that trip I now have a [livejournal.com profile] tibicina in to visit...

So, yeah. That was a very good trip, and you were part of what made it good.

Smile! They'll wonder what you're up to. :)

That was a very good con indeed, and I glad you enjoyed it as much! (I do smile, and I suspect they do wonder!)

Did you notice that you won the flash fiction contest over at Aphelion?

I did NOT notice, thank you! Wheeeee! (I'm glad I didn't regret not voting for myself!)

Thanks! (If you're wondering, Aphelion is the online writing zine that ACat helps run - it's definitely worth checking out.)

Fun memory of you - sipping Starbucks on a warm day and discussing Chicago, which we had just watched.

Fun thing going on with me: Got my Warcraft Epic Flight Form!!!! Yay!!!!

From: [identity profile] kitanzi.livejournal.com
Yeah, that was fun! We never did do another Girl's Trip Out - want to, some time? And congrats on the flight form! ACat's playing the game pretty obsessively and I'm declining to get sucked in, but it sure is pretty.

We should - I will check with the hubby and see if letting him and tech pal jaunt off to Frye's last weekend for 4 hours qualifies to get me a Girl's Trip Out sometime soon!

My opinion on mmorpg's is that an obsession shared is just one more form of networking with the SO. Hubby always levels faster than me, but that's good in a way...we may be doing different things in the game but I could usually get him to come carebear my newb self through some of the hard things ;-)

It is a lot of fun. Like any obsession, we try to manage it by not logging in till the kids are in downtime mode or bed, and only staying on stupid-late every so often - preferably on a weekend night. I'll pony up some gold for a newbie shopping spree if you come play in the WORLD....of Warcraft :-)

Yes to the GTO, no to the WOW. *G* CoH and CoV were lots of fun, and I initially got into them to share it with ACat and stayed in because they WERE fun, but I got tired of them. I'm really not looking for another game obsession, not the least because I think that was a factor in my shoulder problem, and that still aches occasionally. (Especially right now, with lots of intensive computer work at work.)

I've had a good weekend -- a long and productive talk with my ex, going a long way toward putting our friendship back together, lots of time with the children, Pirates of the Caribbean (1, on DVD).

As for good memories? Long conversations with you at Dixseption, originally sitting on the floor of the ladies loos, and then getting very drunk with you in the bar once I'd calmed down a little :-)

That's great news on the weekend - and yeah, although the circumstances fairly well sucked I am glad we got that long conversation. :) *hug*

Hearing my boys giggle makes me smile.
The very early morning light reflected on the still lake makes me smile.
Hearing Ed's voice when he's so far away makes me smile.
Supermarket sushi during a packing break on the porch with the smell of lilacs drifting by makes me smile.
Thinking of you makes me smile.

Hugs!

"dwelling on every stupid or painful thing I've ever done, none of it to any useful purpose."

Keep in mind the last 7 words from the quote above? My mind wanders down those backroads often enough. I yank my mental steering wheel and do a Bat Turn. You have to refuse to let those backroads become rutted.
o/~ Out the window goes the shit. ~\o :)

Good memories? Except for your moving south, I have *only* good memories of you.

You do still have that amazing smile that so lights up your face, right?

You're quite entirely right, and I am trying to do that, but sommetimes the steering wheel gets stuck. I'm not sure what mechanic can work on that. *G*

Awwww, thank you. I miss you too. *bearhug* I have the same smile as ever, far as I know! Pass hugs along for me to your wonderful wife, please?

HappyFunPaul not really awake right now, so present thoughts are limited.

HappyFunPaul's cheerful thought for now: Only 2 1/2 more weeks of Yucky Work, with Conterpoint immediately following. Yay!

HappyFunPaul have many fond memories of Kitanzi. Maybe she call him up sometime (when he awake) and he share them. ;-)
