The second set of questions:
1: Why filk?
I love music, and love singing, but once I moved away from the church where I was in the choir, I didn't really know any other people who liked to sing. I found filk through a concert and some tapes at a Boskone long, long time ago. I didn't find out about filksings until many years later, and when I did it was a wonderful thing, even though I stayed shy and didn't actually sing where anyone could hear me for a long time!
2: What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Odd as it sounds, learning to deal pretty comfortably with people in general.
3: I can't remember hearing you sing. Is it because of my bad memory of the sensory overload of a filk con, or is it because you always end up in a different circle, or is it because you are a listener?
I sing along on things a lot, but I think you mean on my own? I do sometimes, but it's mostly at the housefilks so you probably wouldn't have heard me. I'm also not a night owl, so I rarely stick around long at the OVFF circles. I'm perfectly willing, if you ask some time. I'm still rather shy in many ways.
4: What is your role in running GaFilk?
I am currently treasurer, though I started out as sort of a general "tell me what you need done and I'll do it" person. That may have been a mistake, as eventually the answer to that turned out to be "take over as treasurer"!
5: What is the silliest thing you have ever done?
Um, there are a lot of small silly things, but silliest? Neither ACat or I can think of a good silly story. On the other hand, arguably marrying ACat was the silliest since we're both silly people and we certainly encourage that in each other.

Date: 2007-02-24 05:21 pm (UTC)I have long noticed that whenever a lady calls a man "silly" and keeps him around there is usually some sort of ceremony in the offing... what sort of ceremony varies radically, particularly since so many of my friends are, shall we say, non-traditional...
(dang it, I have *got* to find me a "schmoopie" icon!!!)

Date: 2007-02-26 03:04 pm (UTC)That's one of the (many) things I missed when you moved away. You have a really lovely voice. When I finally- eventually!- make it down to Georgia, I will certainly ask you to sing. It's been way too long.

Date: 2007-02-26 08:13 pm (UTC)I used to go to or through Atlanta fairly often on business, but that was several years ago. Lately, I keep getting sent to Dallas. Generally with no transportation or time to actually visit with the Texasfilk crowd. Employers- they just don't understand what's important!
And I know that whenever you guys make it to New England, you've got huge numbers of people to visit- but still- always welcome up in Nashua. And we've got loads of room now, for houseguests and for filking.
