It annoys me when news services insist on saying things like "Snowstorm targets Northeast". With the possible exception of Heinlein's sentient windfunnel Kitten, WEATHER ISN'T ALIVE AND DOESN'T TARGET ANYTHING.

Right. Just saying.

Absolutely.

It just *feels* like it's raining on me personally some days. :)

There needs to be an umbrella just for that kind of day...

Ah ha, so the wind trying to blow the trees around outside the windows here is really just lurking and waiting for me to step out the door? *G*

We had hardly any show all winter, tonight we're loading the truck for Boskone, and now we get clobbered -- and you say it isn't out to get us?

Well, not personally, no. Or have you done something to piss off the atmosphere lately?

Well, except maybe for Lightning, which *does* look for targets even if the process is not a sentient one.

(Oh, and could also make an exception for the "weather art" in John Varley's "Phantom of Kansas" which is programmed and so does indeed "target" the audience in various ways!)

*troublemaking grin*
