ACat and I never have especially dressed up the house for a holiday, or done anything more extravagant than a movie and dinner out, with maybe an evergreen wreath on the door. This is partly because we have no family close enough to celebrate with and no strong attachment to any of the religions that have celebrations right now - frankly, it boils down to celebrating a long weekend more than anything. We plan to keep the movie and dinner tradition this year, but I hope everyone is enjoying all the many celebrations going on right now!

(On the other hand, if we do manage the househunting we've been talking about, I'm having a party next year just for the excuse! *G* Enough room in my home to invite more than four people over at a time without someone getting trampled? Yay!)

House hunting? Good luck!

This a first time for you?

(Let me tell you, the whole house thing is harder than you can imagine... but once you're finally in and got things the way you want, .... well, actually, the being able to get things just the way you want is a really cool thing.... expensive, but cool.)

Happy days off.... and see you next year!

It is, and we're not sure if we can swing it yet but we want to. Thanks!

Thank you! I have a bad case of house envy with your house, and I know we'll get nothing on that scale but you've seen what we have now. I want something big enough to have company, with a kitchen that will let me cook for the company, and walls that I can frickin well paint after they get splattered with pink yogurt instead of having to live with it!

I highly recommend House Hunting for Dummies; I will check and see if I still have a copy at home.

That would be perfect - we were wondering if there was something along those lines! (BTW, we have Corteo for you, and were you also looking for Hogfather? Cause we got that too!)

House hunting as in to buy a house, not to rent a house. Oy. Chosen One noodged me into going down that path back in '76. It means a *lot* of responsibility, shifted from a landlord's -lady's shoulders to *your* shoulders. Ya know what? We've never regretted it. Pardon my Anglish, but - neither a landlord nor a tenant be. Bravo!

Thanks! We're still figuring out if we can afford it this year. If not, then next year for sure. We're pretty fed up with our landlords and we've been talking about buying a house for years. Wheeeee!
(Merry Christmas!)
