When I'm seriously overtired I revert to being about eight years old - complete with tempertantrums. I take things way too personally - little things, stupid things, like an unintentional, unthinking slight from a friend or a seam on my pants ripping out when I bend over to pick something up - and I get so ugly in a spiral of whininess and bitchiness and self-disgust that *I* wish I didn't have to be in the same room with me.
What does my sweetheart do, tired as he is himself? He hugs me and loves me and gives helpful, sane advice when my claims of how hopeless and pathetic it all is get utterly ridiculous.
He loves me. Right this moment I'd be hard pressed to say why, but he loves me. How did I ever get this lucky

*HUGS* Dear - there's nothing wrong with you. It's just a proverbial Monday, these things happen. And most of us do have those cranky-8-year-old moments once in awhile. Sleep deprivation/exhaustion is no fun!

My dear, everyone gets that way sometimes (even me, although when I do I tend to get my guitar and beat the crap out of it). It makes you no more or less human than the rest of us.

But you do seem to be supremely lucky with your sweetie. If I swung that way, I might ask to borrow him sometime

I agree with Rika and Dave. We all have bad days like that. There are days when I feel incredibly crabby and every little thing seems to irritate me.

Sounds like you two have a good relationship. :-)

That's what mine does. We have a sort of joke expression along the line of "You're a good Mary, and you're going to get through this." This is accompanied by a very tight hug with lot's of good kisses. I return the favor when he needs it of course. :-)

Harumph, you can't tell me you don't swing towards hugs from friends, Dave, and you are more than welcome to borrow him any time. *G*

Of course - and that's the only way to do it. I do it for him when he's down too, but it just seems to me like he handles his bad moods better. He assures me not, however. *G* (Dunno if I BELIEVE that, mind you...)

I don't think I know a single person who could not have written this about themselves at one time or another. Except perhaps the sweetie part, which is just a combination, I think, of Whoever's grace and being cool enough the rest of the time to deserve him. From what I can see, you don't have any trouble one the second. :)

How did you ever get this lucky? Just by being your own, inimitable self, luv. [huGG]
Glad the day got better. (Shit *does* happen, you know.)
