Utterly mindboggled

nrivkis just dropped one of the biggest, shiniest surprises on ACat and me that I have ever received.

Apparently she and a consortium of LOVELY friends (you all know who you are - I don't know all the names yet, though I'm told the card with them should arrive shortly after our wedding date next Friday!) have conspired to buy us a honeymoon.

In England.

Covering both of our airfare, both ways, and the hotel while we are at the UK Con next year, and our memberships. AND arranging the tickets, and the transporation, and staying in peoples' homes if we have time to spend beyond the con, and generally spoiling the hell out of us before, during and after.

I am caught somewhere between brain explosion and incoherent with incredulous joy. We've been determined to go, especially since that will be about the right time to see telynor marry filceolaire, but we've been worried about the finances, especially since it's fairly soon after Worldcon which we're also determined to go to. This is just... mindboggling. I knew we have some good friends - I didn't know you all aspired to be angels! :) *BEARHUGS*

Honestly, there were so many "ringleaders" in this that all I had to do was take in contributions and post occasional updates. Several of the transpondials arranged everything over there, and I had so much help offered over here that I had to turn some of it down for lack of anything to ask them to do!

Your friends love you very much, in case you hadn't known that already. And I wish they'd ALL been able to be in on the phone call to hear your voices when I told you... and I've told them so.

Not quite yet, because the filter has the list of names of people involved and I haven't been authorized yet to give you those separately from the card Seanan's sending soon. Once you get the card, or once the listfolk tell me I can email you the names list anyway, I'll add you to the filter and you can follow it back and see all the cool planning stuff if you like. :)

I also want to get a chance to delete many of the followup comments from some of the postings, which say specifically what amounts specific people were planning to contribute. I don't like leaving price tags on presents, so I'd better clear those off before I let you in on the behind-the-scenes stuff.
