Anyone who knew Lois Mangan probably already knows, through the very efficient grapevine propagated by persis, that she died at home this morning.

She was a member of my family of choice. I lost a lot of contact with her, and the other people I care about in New England, when I moved to Georgia. I feel really horrible about that right now.

I don't do family very well. I hope they can forgive me.

Please, enough of my friends dying.
