Irony

My official boss (ie from the temp agency rather than my day to day supervisor) just came in and cheerfully informed me I won a $50 American Express Gift Certificate because I was their only temp employee for the month of January not have any unscheduled absences.

The irony comes in the fact that I have a loud, gooey, obnoxious cold in my head which shows every sign of laughing at me and lingering for the rest of my natural life - and here I am working. (I suppose it would have been even more ironic if I had called in sick today, but having just have almost two weeks of unpaid vacation, and not getting paid for sick days, I am sitting here feeling and apparently sounding like a bucket full of snot and gravel.) Heh. That's all I have to say..

Working on it, but thanks. *hug*
I have to admit, getting handed $50 did brighten my day up a good bit!

*sigh* mine's being less bad (and less obviously excusing) but just as obstinate. Nonetheless, good news on the gift certificate!*hugs with healthy vibes*

Thank you - but didn't we decide this morning we should see if we could make them cancel out or something? *G* When will you send yours on over?
(BTW, do you want us to send your housekeys back?)

"Like a bucket full of snot and gravel"?

a) Such a way with words you have! :(

b) Even if I haven't the slightest idea what a bucket full of snot and gravel feels or
sounds like, don't carry this yin / yang thing too far. Please get well soon? [huGG]

c) You *will* be well by ConCertino, right? :)

Oh, and congrats on the Grindstone Award.

Ann Onynous.

Thank you, Ann - and I owe you several letters and you're being a very patient sweetheart about waiting for them. Between jetlag, getting settled back in, being sick and work I have been very slowly working through everything. Time for me to go write. :)
