Happiness is...

the tube for the pain ball out of my shoulder, dressings off (replaced by three Cat In The Hat bandaids!), sling on the outside of the shirt, and a really truly SHOWER so the whole mess stops itching!

I may still be sleeping on the order of 12+ hours a day and loopy as a dingbat, but I am CLEAN and I am ecstatic!

Yeay! Congratulations on your triumphant return to both LJ and cleanliness.

Will you be going for godhood next?

the tube for the pain ball out of my shoulder

huh what?

[identity profile] kitanzi.livejournal.com 2005-12-10 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
a little plasticized ball, looks like a christmas ornament, that was left hooked up to my shoulder by a narrow tube under the dressings. It had a mini pump and a small battery from the look of it, and we were told to take it out after it emptied itself out about 72 hours or so post surgery. It did, and ACat ook it out, and it's aaaaaaallll good. Weird, though! If it hadn't deflated in the process I was gonna keep it for a Chrismas tree ball.

I should have clarified - it was extra medicine, some kind of painkiller I forgot the name of.

*gentle hug* I'm glad the surgery went well, dear. May you heal quickly.

Oh, yay! I remember the first time I got to shower post-surgery. It required the tub with the showerhead hose attachment and a LOT of help from Karl. But it felt so so so GOOD to be CLEAN again finally. Aaaah. Enjoy the lovely clean feeling.

Hooray for showers! I remember the GREEEEEEN Cast coming off...and how GOOD it felt to get clean!

Clean body (you), dirty mind (me)

Oh yeah! Because of the last surgery, Chosen One is still allowed to shower only when the visiting
Occupational Therapist comes, which is about once a week. The smile and the lilt in Chosen One's voice speak
wor(l)ds as to how much the shower is appreciated!

I've e-mailed Chosen One your entry and your two Comments. This Christmas ball pain thingy (sounds kinky!)
is completely unknown to Chosen One. And removing something like this at home (in a non-sterile or
non-clean environment) by someone not a health care professional (were either of you given
training
in clean technique or removing the thing?) sounds sort of iffy if the incision isn't healed yet.

I may get back to you on this once Chosen One reads the e-mail but, until then - Yay!

Ann O.
