What I Did On My Vacation (Weekend)

We just now got home from the Michigan, where ACat and I attended the wedding of [livejournal.com profile] aiela and [livejournal.com profile] davehogg, as they and Aiela's daughter Brittany formalized the family they have made. The ceremony was as beautiful as the rehearsal was chaotic (and that's saying something), and I believe Dave and I managed to convince each other of our reality by thorough and rigorous proof. (I maintain there is still a possibility he may evaporate from existance between visits, however. Further proof may be requested.) My pants are entirely bankrupt, and I doubt I'll be able to make much effort to catch up, but we had a really wonderful weekend. Coming home, I remarked to ACat that it felt like coming home from a convention (yes, that IS a compliment!) - we're exhausted and running on autopilot, and missing people left behind as we head back to our everyday lives. ACat brought his laptop but I didn't touch it all weekend, so if I missed anything good, catch me up!

Yay for good weddings! You didn't miss anything I posted, but I too got to meet folks at the far ends of poly relationship threads last night, and it was a goodness...

Felt like coming home from a con. High praise indeed, coming from yourself.

I'm glad that went well for you! :)

Damn, I was so hoping I could be there too for the wedding, so I would also have proof that both Dave *and* Angie exist (I've known Dave for mumble-years online, but never met him in person), and also to meet up with you and ACat as I was assuming you would be there. Unfort I had to cancel going because this horrible cold/sore throat is only now -- apparently. hopefully -- going away after 9 days worth of it. Oh well. Don't suppose you are coming to Conterpoint?

I'm sorry we all missed the chance! I don't think we'll be at Conterpoint this year - we're planning on moving at the end of July, and at this point money and time are going towards that for some time to come. I do hope you feel better

Ah, that's what you were up to this weekend! :) Sounds wonderful!

It was great. I'm still glad we did ours the way we did, but I admit I was crying while they did the vows. It was just that beautiful.

Weddings always do that for me. I'm a regular waterworks.

Welcome back! I didn't realize that trip was coming up so quickly. I would have given you some suggestions around town - but you were probably way too busy as it was.

We really were, but suggestions for the next visit would be welcome, Ms. "Daphne Tracks". *G*

Did you fly or drive up? If you drove up & down on I-75, you guys could have spent a little bit of time with me! :(

We flew in and out of Flint, MI, which was much cheaper than flying via Detroit, though the planes were rather not to my liking (CRJ-200 50 seaters...I felt very squished.)

We flew, sorry! I didn't realize you lived in that area, either, but if we ever do drive I'll keep it in mind. (Most likely we'll keep flying, though - vacation time is more precious than money, these days, though there never does seem to be quite enough of either!)
