Best news I've seen all week, courtesy of eeyorerin - apparently the "let's protest faggots at funerals" crowd now has people counter protesting them. Sign me up.

FWIW, the group has had organized counter-protesting at military funerals for the last few years. It's a group called the "Patriot Guard Riders" and originally motorcycle riders although they've expanded membership since then.

IIRC, they counter-protest mostly by blocking the mourners from view of the haters, and singing patriotic songs if there is need to drown out any shouting or preaching. Also they'll go to the funerals (if invited) whether or not the haters have announced plans to show up.

There have been many counter protests since the Matt Shepard funeral. Look up "Angels in America" or "The Laramie Project"...

There has also been a fair number of fund raising projects which seems to be one of the best ways to keep that lot from KS from showing up.
