By and large, I like being a girl just fine. Every so often, however, there is a temptation to self-medicate with a sharp knife and a large spoon. *sigh*

However, I still don't mean to be an ungrateful twit. Thank you very much to the people who sent me valentines - that was a very bright spot to cheer me up over the weekend! *hugs* (And some of the thanks, at least, I shall be able to pass on in person!)

The first thing that I thought of when I read your post was "A girl needs a knife."

And you know, I should have used that icon. *grin* Thanks for making me smile.

Heh... I didn't even know that you HAD that icon. Makes it even more fitting, then. I'm not used to people having heard of the Flash Girls, sadly.

In any case, I'm very glad that I could make you smile. It's my pleasure.

We just had Emma Bull as our Super-Secret Guest at Gafilk. I'm a *long* time fan of the Flash Girls. :)

*hugs you warmly*

Self-medicate? Ungrateful? What am I missing here? Maybe it's because it's the Dead Day after Boskone, so I'll chalk it up to my being a bit brain-dead. Or were you just a bit slow issuing your thanks? So I'll offer a (gratefully) short sample or two (for varying values of two) of my far-off-centaur sense of humor to cheer you up.

Pre-meditated is not the same as pre-medicated. So please cool it on the practicing medicine (specifically surgery) without a license?

When I was in college, there was a nearby bar called the Bright Spot (in the Brighton section of Boston) which featured a stripper who could twirl her breasts in opposite directions (without manual assistance).
Work still pushing your nose to the grindstone? Tea! OK, that's not very original, is it? (:-/

Happy unValentine's Day!

Yeah, I know. How're you doing these days, btw? For a while there it sounded like you just might wind up with the hospital doing the sharp knife and spoon for you, just to stop the bleeding. *hug*

Eh, I was crampy and crabby and a general bitch. Hormones may be an explanation, but I don't think they deserve to be an excuse. And no, I won't actually be performing self surgery. :) Work is being... well, I really should just write you the email I owe you. It's interesting, in the old chinese curse sense.

I've long given thought to putting together the Radical Woman's DIY Home Hysterectomy Kit.

Maybe we could get Time Life to do a book to go with it.

Hope you feel better soon!!

*hugs*

Heh, it's a thought!

I'm okay, I'm okay. I love the Birth Control Pill. :)

They did kinda take a grapefruit spoon to me two summers ago, come to think.
